Jellyfish Nebula

Hello
Another picture from my trip to the Rhön in icy temperatures but clear skies. The Jellyfish Nebula in the constellation Gemini is the remnant of the explosion of a giant star, a supernova. The explosion probably took place around 30,000 years ago. The thread-like structures shine beautifully in the reddish light of the hydrogen. The bright star is more than 6 times as large as the Sun and shines 3,000 times as brightly.
Kind regards
Hans
